If you’ve ever tried to brief an AI tool to build something for your business and ended up with a mess of half-working code, you already know the gap I’m talking about.
AI can write code. It can move fast. What it can’t do on its own is know which of ten different approaches is the right one for your actual business problem, spot a security hole before it ships, or turn a rough idea into a properly structured, maintainable product. That’s still a job for an experienced developer — just one who has genuinely mastered these tools rather than fearing or ignoring them.
Here’s what that gap actually looks like day to day for the businesses I talk to:
- Too many projects, not enough hands. You’ve got several pieces of software or features that all need building at once, and no way to run them in parallel without hiring a whole team. I manage and create 20+ projects and tasks simultaneously — multitasking at the extreme — because AI-assisted workflows let one experienced developer do what used to take several.
- AI-generated code that looks right but isn’t. A tool spits out something that runs, but it’s brittle, insecure, or impossible to extend six months later. Someone still has to review, harden and structure it properly.
- No one in-house who actually knows how to direct AI tools. Prompting an AI well enough to get production-quality output is its own skill — most teams haven’t built it yet, and hiring for it is hard.
- Deadlines that used to mean “hire more developers.” Now they mean finding someone who can use AI to compress months of work into weeks, without the usual trade-off in quality.
- Ideas stuck in limbo. A rough concept sits on a whiteboard because nobody has the time or confidence to turn it into a working product — even though the tools to do it faster than ever now exist.
That’s the gap I fill. I’ve put together a new page on this site that lays out exactly how I combine years of hands-on coding experience with modern AI development workflows to build software faster, without cutting corners on quality.
